Ndukwana, Socwatsha, Thununu and Stuart, and their Living Archive of History

A brief piece in which John Wright reiterates key points from previous articles he has written on Ndukwana kaMbengwana, Socwatsha kaPhaphu, and Thununu kaNonjiya. The article stresses the importance of moving beyond the notion of ‘oral traditions’ and of recognising the input of African interlocutors as shapers of history.
